For Alexa Collopy, architecture has always been a form of storytelling. Growing up on a farm in rural Saskatchewan, her first encounter with the wider world of design came through her mother’s magazines — windows onto spaces and cultures far beyond her own. “They showed me how places could change lives,” she says. That early fascination never left.

Alexa’s undergraduate work in architectural and art history grounded her practice in context, culture, and the long arc of how places carry meaning across time. She is drawn to design that is simultaneously rooted in its site and open to the people who inhabit it — work that improves the everyday, encourages engagement, and elevates experience.

At Reify, Alexa brings a methodical curiosity to every project: beginning with deep research into a site’s history and community, then iterating through sketches and models until the concept holds. Her guiding conviction is that every material, layout, and threshold carries the potential to shape how people feel.
